RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS

WELCOME TO PROJECT COMPASSION 2022!
FOR ALL FUTURE GENERATIONS
Caritas Australia is the international aid and development organisation of the Catholic Church in Australia and is part of one of the largest aid and development networks in the world working in over 200 countries and territories. Each year, the Project Compassion Appeal runs during the six weeks of the Church season of Lent. As a Catholic school we are asked to raise funds to help build a more just and fair world. Project Compassion is an opportunity for our students to learn about life in different countries through the personal stories of people who have participated in Caritas Australia-supported programs. Your generosity in supporting this appeal helps some of the most vulnerable people create a future full of hope for their families, communities and for all future generations. Each classroom has a Project Compassion box for any donations. Maybe your child might do a job for someone at home and receive a coin to put in the box, or buy something from the canteen and put the change into the box. Just remember: every donation counts.

To assist with the appeal St Michael’s will be having a fun raiser next Thursday 17 March. A flyer will go home next week with the necessary details. We encourage students to discover the power of giving and the impact that their contribution, however big or small, can have in the lives of others.

When we lend a hand to someone in need, they will go on to help others and make better opportunities for future generations. Compassion is contagious and creates a ripple effect of kindness and prosperity.

Thank you in advance for your support of Project Compassion this Lent.
