Swimming Carnival

This year we are trialling a Swimming Carnival for all students in Years 2 to 6. This carnival will be held at Bomaderry Pool on Friday 2 December. The swimming carnival will be held in two parts:

- Part 1: Competitive Swimming Carnival
- Part 2: Non-Competitive Swimming Carnival

PART 1: Competitive Swimming, 8.30am
This part of the carnival is for serious and strong swimmers who would like to represent the school at the Diocesan Swimming Carnival in 2023. It will take place at 8.30am. Students will need to be dropped off at the pool for this part of the carnival. A key requirement to enter this carnival is that the swimmers are current squad swimmers and have received formal and ongoing swimming lessons. All swimmers must be able to swim 50m unaided. If you wish to enter your child in the competitive carnival you must fill out the following form by Monday 21 November. Competitive Swimming Carnival entry form

PART 2: Non-Competitive Swimming Carnival
This will take place at the conclusion of the competitive carnival. These students will arrive at school as normal, and will travel to and from Bomaderry pool for the carnival. All students who are competent swimmers will compete in this carnival. There will be no formal races and no ribbons presented. Students will be given the opportunity to swim against their friends across the width of the pool in freestyle, breaststroke and if time permits relays. All children are to complete the following form for the Non-Competitive Carnival by Monday 21 November. Non-Competitive Swimming Carnival Form

Diocesan Team Trials

The following students have recently trialled for Diocesan representative sports:

- Georgia Hayburn and Iris Zarrella (Year 5) and Grace Seller and Harley Hackett (Year 4) trialled for the Diocesan Basketball team.

- Lucas Duncan (Year 4) trialled for the Wollongong Tennis team.

Although they were impressive throughout with their skills, drills and games, they were up against students with exceptional abilities and narrowly missed out on selection.

- Cooper Green (Year 5) trialled for the Wollongong Diocesan Cricket team. Congratulations to Cooper who was one of 9 students  selected to represent Wollongong as part of the MacKillop Cricket Trials to be held in Wagga across Wednesday 30 November and Thursday 1 December 2022. We wish Cooper all the best with these trials.
