First Holy Communion
Last weekend on the Feast of Christ the King, we witnessed a wonderful celebration of our faith when 78 candidates from St Michael’s school and the Parish received the Sacrament of Eucharist. We pray that the candidates who received Jesus for the first time may always be aware of Jesus in their lives. Their reverence and respect were a credit to their parents, families, and teachers.
Congratulations to all the candidates!

Advent This weekend starts the Season of Advent. In the Catholic Church, Advent is a period of preparation extending over the four Sundays before Christmas. The word Advent comes from the Latin advenio, ‘”to come to,” and refers to the coming of Christ. As during Lent, priests wear purple vestments, and the Gloria is omitted during Mass. The Advent wreath is displayed consisting of four candles, three purple and one pink arranged in a circle. The Advent wreath corresponds to the four Sundays of Advent. |
Enjoy preparing for the coming of Jesus at Christmas.
