BE A VOICE FOR GENERATIONS

NAIDOC_Be_a_voice.png

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. It began as a Week of Prayer for Reconciliation in 1993, supported by Australia’s major religious groups.

The dates for NRW are the same each year: 27 May to 3 June.  Factsheet on National Reconciliation Week.

The day before National Reconciliation Week, 26 May, is National Sorry Day, which was first held in Sydney in 1998 and is now commemorated nationally to remember and honour the Stolen Generations.

A Liturgy slide presentation for Stages 1 / 2 and Stage 3 for the 26th May will be held in each classroom.

On Friday 26th May 2023 the South Coast Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation in partnership with the Children of the Bomaderry Homes will be holding this year’s National Sorry Day Event. This annual event as in previous years will include dance, music, storytelling and a free lunch. A walk across the bridge is part of the event.

If you wish your child/children to attend we encourage families to transport and supervise their own children on this day.

There will be no ticket system this year.

Event Venue: 59 Beinda Street Bomaderry

Event Time: 10:00am – 2:00pm
