As a vote on an Indigenous Voice to Parliament nears, two important statements have been released this month urging Australian Catholics to read and discuss the Uluru Statement from the Heart.

These statements are:

• ACBC: Bishops Issue Statement on an Indigenous Voice to Parliament

• NATSICC: Indigenous Voice represents a significant stride towards empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples

Accordingly, all members of St Michael's community are urged to familiarise themselves with the Uluru Statement from the Heart in order to fully understand what our First Nations people are asking of us and to seek out opportunities for dialogue regarding how to respond as Catholic communities.
