FATHER’S DAY BBQ
It has been another busy fortnight for the P&F and school community. We recently held our annual Father's Day stall and our first Father's Day Breakfast BBQ since COVID.
The BBQ was such a great turn out. Thank you to all the fathers, grandfathers and father figures who joined us. We hope that you left for work afterward with love in your hearts and a full belly!
Special Mentions
Thank you to the Bearded Brewer for providing the coffee and hot chocolate. They generously donated $1 per cup sold, with a total of $135 donated to St Michael’s P&F.
A huge thank you to Jirgens Civil for donating the bread and sausages. We are so grateful for the community involvement. This meant that all funds received may be passed on to the school, with a total of $305 raised.
Thank you to the following volunteers for assisting during the morning:
Catherine & Walter Montgomery, Caroline Stevenson & Cohen Jirgens, Margaret Gassling, Tracey Vaughan, Mr Paton, Genevieve Coulthart & Steven Ide
Without the parent support for our P&F events we wouldn't be able to have these kinds of events so thank you for graciously donating your time.
FATHER'S DAY STALL
WOWEE - What a successful stall this year! We sold out of some items by Wednesday and finished the week with only a few items remaining. I hope all of the dads & father figures enjoyed receiving their gifts. We had some very excited kiddies purchasing items from us last week!
The stall raised a total of $1180!
FATHER'S DAY RAFFLE
The raffle was very successful once again this year. Thank you to all of the businesses who donated prizes.
The winners of the raffle are as follows:
Congratulations to the winners. A P&F representative will soon be in touch with you to arrange collection of your prize.
WORKING BEES
P&F Storage Clean out - TODAY (Friday 8 September)
P&F have storage space beneath the Parish Centre which has not been organised in several years. This afternoon we will be conducting a clean up and sorting Working Bee to facilitate an inventory and asset check. It is very important for the P&F Committee to be familiar with resources we have available to use from year to year and access these safely. There will be tubs of items to sort through, shelving to build and stock to repack, in preparation for the next event. Please join us anytime between 3pm-6pm. Even if you can spare just a short amount of time, any time is greatly appreciated.
Spring Clean Whole School - Saturday 16 September (8am-11:30am)
Mr Paton will have some information about this Working Bee and what is needed, so please keep your eye out for this information.
COLOUR RUN
Now that our P&F events have concluded, it is time to plan and organise the major fundraiser for the year. The Committee have decided to host a colour run, however instead of outsourcing to an organisation, we will coordinate the event inhouse. The Colour Run will run in conjunction with the fun day, held at the end of the year. Mr Paton and staff will provide further information in the coming weeks.
We are grateful to have received some money for prize incentives for the students who raise the most funds. More information will be communicated shortly.
We are looking for eager parents to assist with the organisation of this event. A meeting will be held in the coming weeks. We invite all parents/carers to attend this planning meeting. More information to follow.
YEAR 6 GIFTS
Every year, the P&F donate a gift to each Year 6 student as a momentum for their time at our school. A survey was distributed to Year 6 parents seeking feedback for the available options. Thank you to those who responded. We are now in the process of obtaining quotes.
P&F MEETING
We will be holding our General meeting at 6pm on Tuesday 12 September in the School Library. We will provide a zoom link for those who would like to attend, however are unable to make it in person. We would love to see as many faces as possible. Join us for a coffee and cake.
SPORTING EQUIPMENT
As promised for previous fundraising events, P&F are looking at donating sporting equipment to each classroom to be used at recess and lunch. We are in the final stages of purchasing items and plan to have the equipment ready for use by the beginning of Term 4.
GOD'S GRASS UPDATE
At the beginning of the year, P&F and St Michael's were successful in obtaining a $22,000 grant from Veolia to be used towards the upgrades of our school front play area. P&F have also contributed a significant amount towards this project, using funds raised from last year's Colour Run. We are very excited as this will be taking place within the next school holidays. We will be inviting Veolia representatives for an opening ceremony of this upgraded play area in Term 4.
