Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
After a very busy and productive 10 weeks of learning, today marks the completion of Term 3. Much has been accomplished and I would like to thank the entire St Michael’s staff for their dedication and commitment to our students and families. Despite the challenges of staff shortages, learning has continued and there have been so many successful excursions, sporting events, grade masses and skilled teaching. Teachers have been very supported by parents and carers during Term 3 and genuine family/school partnerships have continued to be fostered. Enjoy the well earned break everyone.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the families and staff members who dedicated their time and energy to join us at the two recent Working Bee events, last Saturday 16 September and Friday 8 September. Their presence and hard work made a significant impact on our community, and I am truly thankful for their commitment to our cause. Together, we accomplished so much, from beautifying our school grounds to fostering a sense of unity among our families. Their support and willingness to roll up their sleeves exemplified the strength of our community, and I look forward to more successful collaborations in the future. Once again, thank you to these families for their invaluable contributions and the positive changes made to our school and its environment.
I would like to congratulate Mrs Boyton and the dedicated team of staff and parents who are in the final weeks of rehearsals for the school production of Oliver. This team has done an amazing job! I witnessed some ‘aha’ moments on Wednesday afternoon as students performed their individual and group parts. The singing from the students was terrific, and hopefully they will all eventually remember their words. Anyone who has been involved in a production of any type will agree that what the students gain through their participation will be a gift they will cherish for the rest of their lives! Thank you to the 100 plus out of school hours that many members of the team have put into the production so far. The background scenes and props are taking shape. Buy your tickets now!!
Over the next two weeks, an amazing transformation will take place in the area known as God’s Grass. When the students, staff and families return to school, a new green oasis will have replaced the present barren and arid area. New safe bitumen will replace the present cracked bitumen. Thank you to our contractors in anticipation of a great safe area for the students to play.
School will return for the students on Tuesday 10 October 2023. All staff will be participating in a Professional Development on Monday 9 October 2023. Have a safe and well earned break everyone.
Yours in Faith and Virtue,
Mr Christopher Paton
School Principal
