Welcome to 2024!

OPENING SCHOOL LITURGY

Yesterday we celebrated as a school community our Opening School Liturgy. Congratulations to all our Year 6 Leaders for 2024 and well done to all the students from Year 1 - 6 for their exceptional reverence and respect during the liturgy. It was lovely to have so many parents and grandparents join us for this special occasion.

ASH WEDNESDAY

The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, 14 February. All grades from Kindergarten to Year 6 will take part in a Liturgy. During Lent we prepare ourselves to celebrate the great season of Easter. With the help of the Holy Spirit, Lent can be a time for our hearts to grow and change through praying, fasting and almsgiving.

Parents/Carers and family are welcome to join the Year 1-6 services.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

This year the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated in the Parish on Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 March at our Parish Churches (with the exeption of Bomaderry).

Students in Year 3 who have received the Sacrament of Baptism are eligible to receive this Sacrament. Enrolments for the Sacrament of Reconciliation are currently taking place this weekend, 10 and 11 February at all of the Nowra Churches (except Bomaderry). Students in Year 4,5 or 6 who are baptised and have not received Reconciliation are also welcome to enrol. The cost is $25, to be paid when enrolling.

Year 3 students will need to have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation to be eligible to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist later this year. Any questions regarding the sacraments for 2024, we ask you to please contact the Parish Office on 4423 1712 or Madria Arnold – (Catechist) madira.arnold@dow.org.au

Let us try this Lent to think of ways we can change and follow Jesus more closely.
