LAUDATO SI' WEEK
"Care for our Common Home"
This week St. Michael's WEN (Wollongong Environment Network) students were given an opportunity to talk with Uncle Vic Channell and Dr. Beth Motts. They yarned about the habitat of the endangered Glossy Black Cockatoos and how we can care for them.
Dr. Beth Motts, a Threatened Species and Ecosystems Officer from Environment NSW also discussed the importance of planting native she-oaks for the Glossy Black Cockatoos. The students then got to work planting and watering the she-oaks in our Black Cockatoo Garden. Thank you Ms Shari Cook for assisting.
Year 6 also were involved with Catholic Earthcare Laudato Si’ Week Q&As 30-minute sessions on Zoom, where students discovered how Caritas is responding to the messages in Laudato Si', asking questions about what Laudato Si’ is, and taking action through the 'Together We Can' campaign activities.
