Lunchtime Robotics Club
This term we have been holding lunchtime robotics each week for interested students from Years 1 to 6. Years 1 to 3 have been exploring block coding using a variety of platforms such as scratch, Mblockly/ Makeblock and Vex 123. They have connected their code to both mBots and Vex123 bots.
Years 4-6 began with building unpowered supercars and quickly progressed to powered cars and then onto coded competition-ready bots. These students experienced a taste of real world robotics competitions that require quick coding, collaboration, last minute repairs and a battle to the end. They are now eligible to be mentors to next term's intake of interested robotics students.
Congratulations to all of the students who took on the challenge of robotics this term. I am so impressed by those who persist through the challenges of when things literally fall apart, code doesn't connect, or you can't quite get there in the time you have. This really is like real life robotics and I look forward to seeing where your continuing involvement in this field takes you.
