MACKILLOP ATHLETICS TRIALS

We have received some exciting news from the MacKillop Athletics trials held at Sydney Olympic Park on Wednesday 25 September.

Morten Ellerington of Year 6 and Finn Goddard of Year 4 represented our school at these Championships and are to be commended on their exceptional sportsmanship and effort.

Recovering from recent illness, Morten achieved excellent results to place 5th in the 800m and 6th in the 1,500m events.

Having just completed the Cross Country season, Finn was unsure what to expect transitioning to the shorter, speedier track distances. Finn exceeded his hopes to place first in the 1,500m race, stripping a massive 4 seconds off the meet record in a time of 5.00.28!

Finn backed up for his 800m race to finish in second place with a new personal best time.

We wish Finn the best of luck as he represents at the NSW PSSA State Championships in Sydney on 23 October.

YEAR 6 BASKETBALL

Last Friday, three teams of Year 6 students travelled to Albion Park to play in the Basketball Gala Day, including a Girls' team and two Boys' teams.

The Boys' teams each finished the event undefeated, winning all of their games whilst the girls' team won all but one game.

This was the first time many of our students had played basketball, making it an exceptional achievement!

All players represented the school with pride and displayed exemplary camaraderie and support for their fellow teams. The sportsmanship and respect shown by our players toward opposing teams was also noticed by the Gala Day organisers. We are extremely proud of these students!
