ST MICHAEL'S YEAR 2-6 SWIMMING CARNIVAL
On Monday 18 November, 60 enthusiastic swimmers from Year 2-5 gathered at Bomaderry Pool for the competitive portion of this year’s Swimming Carnival. The weather provided the perfect backdrop, with sunny skies adding to the vibrant energy of the day.
Students competed in a range of events, including the Opens 100m, 50m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, and the 200m Medley. Each swimmer displayed incredible determination and skill, giving their all in every race.
What stood out most was the camaraderie and school spirit that filled the poolside. The cheers and encouragement from peers, teachers, and families reflected the supportive and positive culture of our school community.
Special mention to Amalie Ellerington, Jack Webber, Sophie Webber, Grace Riepsman, and Havannah Flugler, who showed incredible enthusiasm by competing in all events!
Following the competitive events, the Splash and Dash was a highlight for students, bringing plenty of laughter, excitement, and cooling relief on a warm day. This fun, non-competitive segment saw students racing across the width of the pool, creating a joyful atmosphere as they splashed, dashed, and cheered each other on.
The event encouraged friendly competition among friends and gave everyone the chance to be part of the action, regardless of swimming ability. It was heartwarming to see so many students enthusiastically jumping in, enjoying the water, and making the most of the sunny day.
Smiles were in abundance as students created memories with their peers while staying active and refreshed. The Splash and Dash truly captured the spirit of the carnival—celebrating participation, friendship, and fun.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the positive energy of the day!
