Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
The last week has been a big one for excursions and incursions. The Year 6 students travelled to Canberra last Thursday and Friday for the annual overnight excursion. The students, teachers and staff explored our nation’s capital and returned home impressed with what they observed and learnt. I am thankful to the staff and parents who gave up their valuable time to be with our Year 6 students. This week our Year 3 students attended a performance of 'Picasso and his Dog' at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre. I have read a number of their recounts about the performance and it seemed another very worthwhile excursion. Today our Kindergarten students attended the excursion to Shoalhaven Zoo. This is always a highlight of Kindergarten and today was perfect in many ways. Tomorrow Year 1 will attend an excursion to Currarong and I look forward to hearing great things about it!
I hope all fathers and significant males in the students’ lives had a wonderful Sunday. The weather was absolutely perfect. Thank you again to everyone who joined us last Wednesday for the breakfast and morning prayer, beautifully organised by Mrs Mathieson and her team of staff and students.
Last night was the first information night for parents and carers of students who will receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist, known as First Holy Communion. This is a significant third sacrament that Catholics receive. The first two sacraments are Baptism and Reconciliation. To be eligible to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist, it is essential for parents and carers to attend the preparation meetings in the school hall. Thank you to everyone who attended last night. I am grateful to Mrs Mathieson, Miss Karas, Mrs Lenihan, Mrs Callaghan, Mrs Fairs and Mrs Royston for your assistance with the night.
Yours in Faith and Virtue,
Mr Christopher Paton
