Year 6 Gift to the School Part 2 - Bush Tucker Garden
Another update to the garden. Year 6 has completed the Small Bird Attracting Garden. They are now maintaining the area. An engraved plaque has been ordered to be placed on a rock behind the Totem Poles. You may have noticed that some Year 6 students have started weeding the orchard.
The Environment Group has selected plants for the Bush Tucker Garden with assistance from Aunty Chrissy who works with National Parks. The Bush Tucker garden will be an educational resource for all teachers and students. All the plants will be labelled with an explanation of the medicinal/edible use of the plant.
Most of the plants grow locally in the bush. The plants were sourced from Wirrin Wirra Nursery, a local Native plant Nursery from Tomerong. The money used to buy all plants, mulch and the plaque was sourced from the Year 6 Cupcake Day.
