St Michael's Sports Corner

The St. Michael’s Twilight Swimming Carnival was held at Nowra Pool last Wednesday, the 2nd December. Covid-19 restrictions brought many hurdles and made the carnival very different than previous years. On the night, we had 35 students compete in the carnival.  All students participated with great sportsmanship and it was great to see smiles all around. A big thank you must go to the Year 5 teachers for their organisation of the carnival and the staff who assisted on the evening. Thanks, must also go to all the parents who volunteered to assist with the running of the carnival on the night. The overall house winner of the carnival was Michael (red).

A special mention must go to the top swimmers of each age group.

Beau Lynch is one of St. Michael’s talented cricketers. He currently plays for North Nowra - Cambewarra Cricket club and he has been selected to play in the Southern Marlins side. This will see Beau play in the Cricket NSW youth championships every Sunday leading up to Christmas. He is playing some very tough games against very talented players. We wish Beau the best of luck with his upcoming games.

The Shoalhaven Rugby Club has organised a Kids Try Rugby Clinic on the 13th & 20th January 2021 during the School Holidays. The days will include coaching and skill development, drills, free play and a BBQ lunch on both days. Participants can attend one or both days. The headline “Coach” for the clinic is Will Miller, a local junior who represented Australia in the 7’s format of the game, and has played 4 seasons at Super Rugby Level for the Rebels, Waratahs and the ACT Brumbies Franchises.
