Dear Parents and Carers,
The shorter week has been a good one for students, staff and parents. School has certainly resumed a healthy normality and students have had a very settled week. The social distancing of parents in the playground after school has improved and there is a sense of optimism permeating throughout the school. I have almost completed Kindergarten 2021 interviews and look forward to sending out offers once Father Pat Faherty and I have discussed each of the applications. CEO Wollongong and the school have completed most preschool phone calls. Numerous school programs assisting individual and small groups of students have recommenced while literacy, numeracy and Religious Education will continue to be the main focus in the classroom for the remainder of this term.
This week on Tuesday morning, about 30 members of staff attended mass in the church. As you are aware, gatherings for mass or worship have been not allowed for the last three months. It was Spiritually satisfying to be engaged in mass again and those who attended appreciated the opportunity. If you wish to attend mass in the near future, please contact the Parish office on 44231712.
Teachers are presently completing student progress reports for the first Semester. These will be available to parents on Compass at the end of Week 9. A letter co-signed by CEO Wollongong and me will be sent home to parents in Week 9 as well.
After school pickup: Please continue to turn right after the gates and gather up on ‘God’s Grass’ standing 1.5 metres apart while waiting for the students in Kindergarten, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 at 2.45pm. Once your child sees you and walks to you, please leave via the bitumen pathway, NOT via ‘God’s Grass’, so that minimal contact and exposure is made with other adults. Thank you for your assistance with this.
Yours in Faith and Virtue,
Mr Christopher Paton
PostingConnect
PostingConnect is a new platform to simplify the posting experience, it’s being designed by Defence, for Defence.
Throughout 2020 the PostingConnect project team have been conducting group and one-on-one testing sessions of the PostingConnect platform to better understand the needs of Australian Defence Force members and their families through real-time feedback.
To date, these sessions have resulted in a more user friendly and simpler design with less steps to navigate, and more relevant information provided.
We have some limited testing opportunities available for next week, if interested in being involved in these sessions please email posting.connect@defence.gov.au
