Dear Parents,

A very special welcome back to all of you for the 2021 school year. I hope you all had an opportunity to relax and enjoy the student vacation. This term the fortnightly newsletter will be shared in Week 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10.

Yesterday most students returned to school and it was a very calm and settled day. With the Covid measures in place as per the communication I sent to you last Friday, the beginning and end of the day routines worked quite well.

We have welcomed back all students as well as a number of new ones who have arrived from as far away as Sale in Victoria and Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. I visited all classrooms yesterday and the students were very settled and compliant. I would like to thank parents for the way the students have arrived back at school in the proper school uniforms.

Due to Covid restrictions still in place, large gatherings of parents on the playground or in the hall is still not allowed. Next Friday, Father Leo will lead a liturgy for the Year 6 students and badges will be blessed and distributed. Unfortunately parents are still unable to join us for this liturgy due to Covid restrictions. I am sure there will be a time during the year when things return to normal.
