Last Monday, the 20th of May, Year 6 travelled to Berry for Spirit Day. It was run by Mrs Mathieson, Sr Sue, Mr Ambrus, Mrs Neilson, Mrs Royston and all the support teachers that attended. The day was very reflective with meditation, self-reflection and candle making.
On Tuesday, we then had the Catholic Youth Ministry, Wollongong (CYMW) organise the ACTIVATE Fire day for us to have a full day of immersive spiritual activities. This is only the second time this day has run for primary schools in the Wollongong Diocese and we were grateful Year 6 students from St Mary's Star of the Sea, Milton were able to join us. We danced, sung, reflected, discussed in small groups and played games all throughout the day... and who could forget the sausage sizzle at lunch! The leaders of the team also spoke about the Sacraments, especially Confirmation and the gifts and fruits we need to strength to "activate the fire" within us and use those gifts and fruits in our everyday lives. It was such an energetic day and we thank CYMW, the NET Team and volunteers from St. John's High School (as well as our teachers!) for organising the day for us.
